Tulips in Garden

I am terribly sorry that I posted nothing last week. I have a lot to share but somehow I was lazy these days…not lazy when I hold a camera. I keep taking photos in this flourishing spring. Then countless photos stuff in my hard disk, most are spam. Sometimes I don’t know what to do with them and I have no time to sort one by one. This is really a trouble in Digital Age.

Today’s sunshine made me rush to the Botanical Garden recklessly again, though I have just visited it last week. I was intending the nymphs of Cordulegasteridae. Meanwhile, the beautiful tulips are blooming! Wonderful scene!

  1. Oh WOW Mingfei, what an incredible sight this is!! There must be thousands and thousand of tulips there in colors I have never seen before. Are all these all hybrids? I have always thought of them as just having one colour.

I love the way you have captured the light in the last photograph. An excellent post. I do love the spring when everything bursts into bloom after the long, cold winter.

  2. I forgot to ask: the trees with the red blooms in the back, are those flowering plum trees? They are beautiful too.

  3. Wow, this looks like the Keukenhof in Holland (I assume you know I'm Dutch) - that's where all the hybrids of tulips are displayed, and it's open only for a few months in a year. They even have (used to have) black tulips). Thanks for sharing, this is wonderful!

I think they are all hybrids bacause tulips in different colors are all Tulipa gesneriana. The pink tree is peach. There are many peach trees in the garden and the "Peach Flower Festival" is hold every year to attract more tourists.

The people in your motherland is so great! How can they cultivate so many styles with single species? I would like to visit the Keukenhof if I had a chance.

Thank you! It is luck that the weather is fine and I arrived in right time. What's more, I capture these with my friend's 12X optical zoom camera because the battery of mine was dead.
